Seasilk Shawl, in a hurry

Okay, I'm all packed and ready to go. Seriously, though – how much knitting do I really think I'll be able to do in 11 days? Even with long flights at either end.
But I'm leaving in half an hour, and I still have to eat lunch and check my work email one last time. So [...]

Why yes, I have been knitting

Why yes, I do have a knitting blog. Right. I knew that. Okay then, maybe I should get some posts written. After all, even though the blogging has ground to a halt, the knitting hasn't (it has slowed but not stopped!)
So where were we? Oh yes, Sheldon. Well he is now in his new home, [...]

A turtle followed me home

I've been home for over a week now, but I just haven't had it in me to update the blog. But here goes!
As always when I travel, I had lots of knitting time. Not as much as usual, because I was travelling with some colleagues on this trip, so I was generally socializing in [...]

2007 in Review

Here's a review of my 2007 knitting. This was my first full year of blogging, so I have pictures of all of my FOs in the past year. Which were….

6 scarves (3 of them lace)
2 pairs of mittens
25 korknisses
4 pairs of socks
2 hats
1 crocheted bag
1 top
2 shawls
2 afghans (one was a group project)
1 pair [...]

Gift exchange

Every year, my immediate team at work (7 of us) draws names for a gift exchange. This year, I got my manager's name. Not only is he a good manager, he's also a really great person (competent and nice, what more could you ask for!). I often show him what I'm currently knitting, and my [...]

Oh the weather outside is frightful

Here in Ottawa we're in the middle of our third big winter storm so far this winter fall. It's a perfect day to stay inside, make some soup (Leek and Potato; Lentil), do some laundry, tidy up a bit (no major cleaning, mind you, just organizing) knit and blog.
I've spent most of the past week [...]

Snow, snow, snow

This morning we woke up to a fresh blanket of snow (and it's still coming down). It's beautiful outside today (and not as cold as the last couple of days), but all I can think of is my poor little mitten getting further and further buried. We need a good thaw so I can see [...]

I’m such a follower

After I finished Mom's scarf, I had two projects on the needles: the diagonal rib socks (which I am now about 2 inches away from finishing) and the Lacy Waves Top (for which I still have both sleeves to do. I think I need to rip back the one partially-done sleeve). I had planned to [...]

Knitting Update

While I was in Halifax, I did have a lot of knitting time. And a lot of knitting time translates into new finished objects, and progress on WIPs.
First up, the Anemoi Mittens. I actually finished these before I left for Halifax, but didn't have a chance to take some photos. I absolutely love these mittens. [...]

Socks, and a bit of crochet

Thanks for all of your comments on the Ribby Shell. I will likely knit this pattern again, using a more suitable yarn. This was the first time I had ever knit with bamboo. I absolutely love the feel of it, but not the behaviour. Oh well, knit and learn!
Meanwhile, I do have a couple of [...]
