In search of FOs

So last year I finished a total of 33 knitted things. That works out to an average of 2.75 per month. It is now almost the end of January (how did that happen, exactly? Where did it go?) and I have the grand total of 0 FOs to date. Yup. Zero. None. Nada.

I have been knitting, although admittedly not as crazily as this time last year. I have a sock almost finished. And I've been working on Henry.

Henry in Progress

I'm actually further along than in this photo (it's done lengthwise, so there are 450 stitches on the needles, and it will be finished when I deem it wide enough). It's a beautiful pattern, and I'm making it Knitpicks Gloss in Black. The only drawback is that the pattern is incredibly tedious. The resulting fabric is worth it, but it is very slow going (and I'm a fast knitter). The problem is that you're knitting 2, slipping 2 every row (or purling 2, slipping 2) so it's very easy, but also very easy to get off track and be off by 1. So you have to pay attention. I find it much easier to pay attention with a lace pattern than with something simple. And it's black. So I need the right light in order to be able to see if I'm on track.

I'm still plugging away at it though, because it's going to make a lovely scarf. And then I'll move on to something engaging. And colourful. And fun.

I will need to take a wee pause from the scarf to make a heart square or two for J. For more details, read this post

I need to finish something soon!

Hello! Oh I just love ‘Henry’ and that scarf is on my wish list for 2008. I appreciate your comments/yarn used on this pattern. Good to keep in mind while in the planning stages.
