Here in Ottawa we're in the middle of our third big winter storm so far this winter fall. It's a perfect day to stay inside, make some soup (Leek and Potato; Lentil), do some laundry, tidy up a bit (no major cleaning, mind you, just organizing) knit and blog.
I've spent most of the past week on one knitting project – which I can't show yet because it's super top secret (if you're on Ravelry, you can see it there). It is now finished so I can move on to other things, like a new pair of socks
I usually have a pair of socks on the needles, but I haven't since I cast off the last pair, since my super top-secret project also doubled as my take everywhere/mindless knitting project.
I also have the Celtic Tote Bag from the latest issue of Interweave Knits on the go.
I have one side done, and I've started on one strap. I'm using Cascade 220 for the first time. I see why it is so popular. Yarn Forward is now carrying it, so I'm sure it won't be the last time I use it.
There have also been a few more Korknisses made (shocking, I know)
I have made 25 to date, although this is the last group picture you'll see, as I have given them all away. There are still a few people I want to give some to, so I will be making a few more. I had fun this past week at work putting them on my colleagues' desks. They seem to be well liked.
Remember back a few months ago I made some felted clogs:
Well, I hadn't put anything on them to keep them from being slippery. The other day I was in The Wall*Mart and I saw some bumpy anti-slip shelf liner that I thought would work just fine
So I cut some out and sewed it on to the bottom of my slippers. Works like a charm – no more fear of wiping out. And I have lots left to replace it with if this wears out.
Well, that's it on the knitting front for today. Off to do another load of laundry. If you're in Ottawa, stay inside!

Great idea for the clogs. I will suggest to my slipper-making class.
I think I have that same colour of Mega-Boot — LOL! I did NOT need to know that Cascase is at YF, though. Cute corks, and a great idea for clogs.
Great idea for clog bottoms – Thanks!
I just sent a pair off to my sister and I’m SO afraid she’s going to slip in them.
Happy Holidays!
Love the color of the socks. and very clever re: non-slip clogs!
very smart idea, I know the stay inside was for yesterday but I am staying inside today as well ( against my will) because we still can’t go anywhere! no plow yet.
Awesome idea about the no slip shelf stuff. Very creative solution!! And probably WAY cheaper than the pre-cut stuff they sell especially for slippers.
Hope I’m on the list for a couple of those korknesses !
I am soon making clogs and love this idea! Your Korknesses are so fetching too. I like the colour of that sock yarn. yum. I love any kind of bag especially knitted ones…my you and I have the same taste, eh? Mr. Hedgehog says ‘Hi’…he he Merry Christmas!
That’s ingenious! I used Rubber Paint for tool handles. How did your clogs turn out so well? Mine didn’t seem to shape very nicely. We’ll see what my dad thinks in (what is it?) 7 days!?
Brilliant anti-slip technology Leanne!
Running over to ravelry to see top secret Xmas gifty!
The shelf lining looks great on the clogs!
