Thanks to all of the suggestions on where to find hedgehog eyes and noses. Suzette left a comment telling me about the Doll and Bear Show and Sale on Sunday, so I went there in pursuit of eyes. And eyes I found. There was only one vendor with supplies, but she had exactly what I was looking for. The company is Disco Joints, and although they are not based here in Ottawa, they do have a mail order business for my future eye needs. I took the hedgehog with me, but I still had trouble deciding which eyes and nose would look best, so I bought several different ones and tried them all when I got home. So now I have more eyes and noses, and therefore will need to make more hedgehogs, and other assorted critters.
So today the still nameless hedgehog had a visit to my office:
I am now in a very rare position. I have nothing on the needles. The silk scarf is finished and is blocking (pictures soon). I have made three dishcloths for a friend – I took pictures but they didn't turn out very well (it's not easy to take pictures of black dishcloths!). I never really thought that dishcloths needed to be blocked, but the pictures tell another story.
I've started swatching a few things, but nothing has jumped onto my needles yet. I'm sure it won't take long though. The afghan is, well, umm, looking exactly the same as the last time I showed it. All the knitting is done, but I haven't started grafting it together yet. (Actually, in the spirit of full disclosure, I do still have Dad's socks on the needles – but I've pretty much abandoned them. I'm just not feeling the socky love).
Hmmmm, maybe I should make another hedgehog.

Your hedgehog is adorable. Maybe you should make one for your dad.
I can’t explain why – but I think his name should be “Bruce”.
Looking forward to seeing the italian silk scarf!
See you this weekend
very cute… good choice on the eyes
That is too cute. I must have one. Time to buy some crazy eyelash yarn for the first time!
See you on Friday at Bridgehead (?)
That is absolutely the most adorable hedgehog I’ve ever seen . And the scarf is gorgeous with your coat.
